Position Summary Must have a valid drivers license - The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a critical role in supporting clients through their recovery journey in a structured substance abuse treatment environment. BHTs ensure a safe, therapeutic, and supportive milieu, monitor client behavior, support clinical programming, and assist the treatment team in delivering high-quality care. Key Responsibilities Supervise and monitor clients to ensure safety and compliance with facility rules, schedules, and treatment plans. Conduct regular rounds and perform client headcounts per policy. Document observations, client interactions, incidents, and progress accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR). Support clients in daily living activities, including hygiene, chores, transportation, and medication line. Facilitate or support therapeutic and recovery-oriented groups, community meetings, and recreational activities. Conduct drug/alcohol screenings and property searches as required. Intervene appropriately in crises, de-escalate situations, and follow emergency protocols. Escort clients to appointments, activities, or off-site events as needed. Maintain professional boundaries while building rapport with clients in a compassionate and supportive manner. Communicate relevant information to clinical, medical, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision as assigned. Uphold all facility policies, state/federal regulations, and confidentiality standards (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2).

Qualifications Education:

High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or a residential setting preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 25 lbs, and respond quickly in emergencies. May involve evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday shifts. Pay:

$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
