Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Certified Nurse Midwife, where you will provide whole-person, compassionate care to women and families throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum and routine gynecologic care. Our practice values patient-centered care, clinical excellence and supporting women through every stage of their reproductive health journey. This role combines advanced clinical practice with meaningful patient interactions across both outpatient and inpatient settings. You will work collaboratively with our physicians, midwives, nurses and support staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care that supports physiologic birth and promotes the well-being of mothers and babies. We are seeking a motivated and skilled midwife who is passionate about women's health and excited to contribute to a collaborative, supportive clinical environment. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum and well-woman care using a patient-centered approach Conduct thorough assessments, including patient histories, physical exams and individualized care planning Manage labor and attend vaginal deliveries, including fetal monitoring, suturing and comfort measures that support physiologic birth Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and recognize when physician consultation or a higher level of care is appropriate Perform clinical procedures within the CNM scope of practice, including medication administration and specimen collection Maintain complete and accurate documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR), including appropriate CPT/ICD coding and detailed encounter notes Educate and support patients regarding fertility awareness, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery and reproductive health Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on clinical findings and individual patient needs Collaborate with physicians, fellow midwives, nurses and ancillary providers to ensure seamless, compassionate care Participate in the shared midwifery call rotation Uphold HIPAA, regulatory standards and practice quality guidelines in all clinical operations Requirements Current Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification required Graduate of an accredited nurse-midwifery program Current Virginia RN and APRN licensure or ability to obtain Virginia licensure Experience in obstetrics/gynecology, labor and delivery or women's health preferred Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and maternal-newborn assessment Competence in suturing, specimen collection and medication administration Proficiency with EHR systems and familiarity with CPT/ICD coding Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and advocate for women and families Commitment to life-affirming, ethical and patient-centered care aligned with the mission of our practice Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professional integrity and compassionate bedside manner Qualified new graduate CNMs are welcome to apply. Schedule & Benefits This is a full-time position with a clinical schedule generally structured across four days per week, along with participation in a shared midwifery call rotation.
