Category Schools - Music Therapist Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity to support children with developmental disabilities and autism as a Music Therapist in a dedicated nonprofit environment. This part-time, contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact with a manageable weekly schedule of 3-5 hours, running through the full school year. What you'll bring: Certification and experience as a Music Therapist Background working with children, preferably those with developmental disabilities or autism Ability to develop engaging, individualized music therapy sessions Compassion, flexibility, and strong communication skills Willingness to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team focused on student growth Your responsibilities: Conduct two weekly music therapy sessions with a small group of 4-6 children Develop and adapt session plans to address individual needs and therapy goals Utilize a variety of musical tools and techniques to foster communication, expression, and social interaction Collaborate closely with staff and families to report on student progress and adapt strategies as needed Document session notes and maintain accurate records as part of the therapy process Benefits of working in this role include a pay rate of $40 per hour, weekly direct deposits, and comprehensive healthcare benefits through Soliant.
