Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Nuclear Medicine PET Technologist PRN to join our compassionate Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this PRN role, you will perform high-quality PET and nuclear medicine imaging studies, prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure strict adherence to radiation safety and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff, support accurate diagnoses, and provide patient-centered care. Responsibilities Perform PET and nuclear medicine imaging procedures per physician orders and departmental protocols Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately Verify patient identity, obtain history, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety Operate and troubleshoot PET/CT and nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory standards (ALARA, NRC, state guidelines) Monitor patients during and after procedures, responding appropriately to adverse reactions Accurately document procedures, doses, and patient information in the electronic medical record Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and care teams to coordinate imaging and patient flow Maintain quality control checks on equipment and participate in continuous quality improvement Support on-call/PRN coverage needs and participate in ongoing education and training Required Skills PET imaging Nuclear medicine procedures Radiopharmaceutical preparation and handling Radiation safety and ALARA principles Operation of PET/CT and nuclear medicine cameras Patient positioning and imaging protocols IV insertion and contrast administration Electronic medical record documentation Quality control and equipment calibration Regulatory compliance (NRC/state)
