Join a Growing Specialty Mental Health Practice MisterHealth Counseling is seeking a Connecticut-licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide psychiatric evaluations and medication-management services to clients across Connecticut. MisterHealth is not a generic mental health practice trying to serve everyone in exactly the same way. We are building a recognizable specialty practice focused on men's mental health, sexual health, relationships, and LGBTQ+-affirming care. Our clients may be navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood concerns, relationship distress, performance pressure, sexual functioning concerns, medication-related sexual side effects, pornography concerns, identity development, anger, grief, and major life transitions. We are looking for a provider who understands that mental health does not exist in a vacuum. Medication decisions can affect energy, confidence, relationships, libido, sexual functioning, and a client's overall quality of life. These concerns deserve to be discussed directly and without judgment. You do not need to be a sex-therapy expert. You do need to be comfortable having honest, professional, and sex-positive conversations about the issues clients are actually experiencing. About the Position This is a fully virtual, fee-for-service 1099 independent-contractor opportunity. The position can begin with a small part-time caseload and grow based on your availability, client demand, insurance credentialing, and mutual fit. You will determine your available clinical hours and provide services to clients located in Connecticut through secure telehealth. There is no requirement to work from one of our physical offices, but you are open to working in person in Naugatuck or West Hartford, CT. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations through telehealth Diagnose and treat mental health conditions within your training and scope of practice Develop individualized, evidence-informed treatment plans Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications when clinically appropriate Provide ongoing medication-management appointments Educate clients about diagnoses, treatment options, potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives Monitor treatment response and adjust treatment plans when appropriate Discuss medication-related sexual side effects openly and professionally Assess client safety, risk factors, substance use, and the need for a higher level of care Coordinate care with MisterHealth therapists and outside healthcare providers when clinically appropriate and authorized by the client Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation Follow applicable federal and Connecticut telehealth, prescribing, privacy, and professional-practice requirements Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and ethical standards Participate in clinical consultation and care coordination when helpful Required Qualifications Active and unrestricted Connecticut APRN license Current national certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Graduate degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program Current DEA registration appropriate for practicing and prescribing in Connecticut Current Connecticut Controlled Substance Practitioner Registration, when required Ability to meet Connecticut requirements for independent or collaborative APRN practice Current professional liability insurance NPI number and an up-to-date CAQH profile Ability and willingness to participate in insurance credentialing Ability to provide services through secure and confidential telehealth Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnostic, prescribing, and documentation skills Commitment to evidence-informed, ethical, and client-centered care Preferred Qualifications At least two years of psychiatric prescribing experience Experience treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, mood disorders, and relationship-related distress Experience working in an outpatient or private-practice setting Experience working with men, adolescents, young adults, LGBTQ+ clients, or other underserved populations Comfort discussing sexual functioning, sexual health, intimacy, masculinity, gender identity, and sexual orientation Experience coordinating treatment with psychotherapists and other healthcare professionals Familiarity with insurance-based behavioral healthcare and electronic health records Schedule Fully remote Part-time Flexible, provider-selected availability Daytime and evening availability may be considered Opportunity to expand the caseload as demand grows No required in-office hours How to Apply Please submit the following through Indeed or email your materials directly to DrMike@MisterHealth.com : To learn more about our practice and mission, visit MisterHealth.com .
