Part-Time Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Job Description

Description Position Summary Regis College is seeking a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) to join the Center for Health and Wellness. This is a part-time position working 8 hours each Friday during the academic year (August through May). Reporting to the Director of the Center for Health and Wellness, the Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive, high-quality health care to Regis College students. The NP practices with a high degree of autonomy and clinical judgment while collaborating with other members of the Center for Health and Wellness team and community health care providers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to providing accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based care within a diverse college community. Essential Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary and episodic health care services to students. Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic health conditions within the scope of NP practice. Perform comprehensive and focused health assessments, including evaluation of physical, psychological, emotional, social, cultural, and environmental factors affecting health. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care using sound clinical judgment and current evidence-based practice. Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Massachusetts law, professional standards, and applicable clinical protocols. Provide preventive health services, health education, and counseling. Educate students regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, preventive measures, and appropriate use of the health care system. Promote student responsibility for illness prevention, health maintenance, and restoration of health. Provide continuity of care and appropriate follow-up for students receiving services. Maintain timely, accurate, complete, and confidential electronic medical records. Refer students to specialists, emergency services, or other health care providers when clinically appropriate and ensure appropriate transfer of clinical information. Collaborate and consult with other members of the Center for Health and Wellness team and outside health care professionals as needed. Utilize appropriate resources within Regis College and the surrounding community to support student health and wellness. Develop and maintain collegial relationships with clinical staff and community providers. Serve as a clinical resource and role model for students and members of the college community. Participate in departmental activities, meetings, and professional development as appropriate to the position. Maintain current knowledge of clinical practice standards, regulatory requirements, and legislative issues affecting advanced practice nursing and college health. Demonstrate ongoing professional growth through continuing education and maintenance of professional certification and licensure. Perform other related duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an approved school of nursing. Master's degree in Nursing or advanced practice nursing from an accredited institution. Current, unrestricted Massachusetts Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure. Current national board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP). Current prescriptive authority and ability to prescribe medications in accordance with Massachusetts requirements. Minimum of three years of professional Nurse Practitioner experience preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently while functioning collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary health and wellness team. Preferred Qualifications Experience in college health, primary care, urgent care, adolescent/young adult health, or a related outpatient setting. Experience providing preventive health education and counseling to young adults. Experience with electronic health records. Schedule This position is scheduled for Fridays, 8 hours per week, during the Regis College academic year (August through May).
Compensation:
$64.75/hr Working Conditions and Physical Demands Work is performed primarily within the Center for Health and Wellness. The position requires the use of standard medical diagnostic and testing equipment and may involve standing, bending, and other physical activity associated with performing patient examinations. Occasional lifting of equipment or supplies and assistance with patient mobility may be required.
