Monday- Friday 8:00 - 5:00 (may have flexibility) About Us Synergy Recovery Center and Synergy Executive are private, gender-specific, residential treatment facilities providing comprehensive, compassionate care to individuals experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where residents can stabilize, develop recovery skills, and build a foundation for long-term wellness. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our clinical team and provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and ongoing behavioral health care to adults in a residential treatment setting. Position Summary The PMHNP will provide psychiatric assessment and treatment for residents with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and co-occurring conditions. The provider will work collaboratively with therapists, nurses, case managers, medical providers, and other members of the treatment team to develop individualized plans of care. The ideal candidate has experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and other behavioral health conditions and is comfortable providing care in a residential setting. Key Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including mental health and substance use assessments. Diagnose and treat psychiatric and co-occurring disorders within the provider's scope of practice. Initiate, prescribe, and manage psychiatric medications as clinically appropriate. Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, adherence, and potential interactions. Provide ongoing psychiatric follow-up and make treatment adjustments based on clinical presentation and progress. Assess residents for withdrawal-related, psychiatric, and other medical concerns and coordinate appropriate levels of care when needed. Coordinate care with primary care providers, therapists, nursing staff, outside specialists, and other healthcare professionals. Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to discharge and continuing-care planning. Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation. Provide education to residents regarding medications, diagnoses, recovery, relapse prevention, and overall mental wellness. Maintain professional boundaries and promote a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented treatment environment. Follow all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and facility policies. Qualifications Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Current, unrestricted APRN/NP license in [State]. Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) preferred/required. Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one, as applicable. Current CPR/BLS certification. Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, addiction treatment, residential treatment, or a related setting preferred. Experience treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions strongly preferred. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care.
