Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

Position Summary:
JCCA is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to be an integral member of our dynamic, outpatient Behavioral Health & Wellness Program. This position offers a great opportunity to grow and develop specialty areas of practice in a unique, supportive and collaborative environment on our Westchester Residential Campus. Under the supervision of a Psychiatrist, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner has the clinical responsibility for monitoring treatment and staff delivery of clinical services. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment, as well as related psychoeducation and treatment of the team. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will supervise medication administration, in addition to psychiatric and medical treatment and procedures. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is expected to maintain consistent communication with a focus on collaborative team-based care.
Responsibilities:
Provide case contacts
  • medication assessment and administration, coordination with clinical team
  • 50% of time Participation in team meetings, supervision by a psychiatrist (no fewer than 4 hours per month
  • 25% of time Documentation

Qualifications:
Must be currently licensed as a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the New York State Education Department. Previous experience working with children who have significant emotional disorders, severe mental, emotional and behavioral impairments Excellent Computer skills with the ability to learn new platforms Knowledge of Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Medicaid and Federal guidelines is preferred Should be well-versed in Social Determinants of Health, Race Equity, Social Justice, and Trauma Informed care Exceptional interpersonal, communication and clinical skills Bi-lingual Spanish (a plus) S alary: $150K
