4-5 clinical hours per scheduled day About Nova Wellness Psych Nova Wellness Psych is an outpatient psychiatric practice providing comprehensive mental health evaluation, treatment, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care. We are seeking Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs), Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs), newly graduated NPs, and qualified NP students who are interested in working with psychiatric patients and developing their skills in outpatient psychiatry. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong clinical judgment, professionalism, compassion, and a genuine interest in psychiatric care. Position Overview The provider will provide outpatient psychiatric services to both new and established patients .
Responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for new patients. Completing psychiatric diagnostic assessments. Developing individualized treatment plans. Providing psychiatric medication management. Conducting follow-up appointments and monitoring treatment response. Assessing medication effectiveness, adherence, and adverse effects. Providing patient education regarding psychiatric diagnoses and treatment options. Performing appropriate psychiatric risk assessments. Coordinating care with therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate. Completing timely and accurate clinical documentation. Recognizing when a patient requires a higher level of psychiatric or medical care and making appropriate referrals. Creyos Cognitive & Neurocognitive Testing Nova Wellness Psych also incorporates Creyos computerized cognitive assessment and testing into our clinical evaluation process. Providers may be involved in reviewing and clinically integrating Creyos testing results as part of the overall patient assessment and treatment-planning process. Depending on training and clinical responsibilities, this may include: Reviewing computerized cognitive assessment results. Evaluating domains such as attention, working memory, planning, response inhibition, and other cognitive functions. Incorporating testing results into the broader psychiatric evaluation. Using objective assessment data to support diagnostic clarification when appropriate. Discussing results with patients in an understandable and clinically appropriate manner. Integrating cognitive testing findings with clinical interview, history, rating scales, and functional impairment. Using assessment findings to help guide treatment planning. Creyos testing is not used as a stand-alone diagnostic tool. Results are considered as one component of a comprehensive clinical assessment. Training and support regarding the use and interpretation of Creyos assessments can be provided as appropriate. Patient Population Our providers may work with patients experiencing a range of psychiatric concerns, including: ADHD Depression Anxiety disorders Bipolar disorders Trauma-related disorders Sleep difficulties Mood disorders Psychotic disorders Cognitive and attention concerns Other outpatient psychiatric conditions Training & Clinical Support Psychiatric experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate . Candidates transitioning into psychiatry may receive training and clinical guidance related to: Psychiatric interviewing and assessment Differential diagnosis Psychiatric medication management ADHD assessment and treatment Depression and anxiety treatment Mood disorder management Psychosis assessment Risk assessment and safety planning Treatment planning Documentation Follow-up psychiatric care Creyos cognitive/neurocognitive testing Integration of rating scales and objective assessment data into clinical decision-making Candidates must practice within their applicable license, certification, education, training, and scope of practice.
Schedule Requirements Minimum:
4-5 clinical hours per scheduled day. We are looking for providers who can maintain a consistent schedule and see both new patient evaluations and follow-up patients . Additional hours may be available based on patient demand, provider availability, and practice needs. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Compassionate and patient-centered. Interested in outpatient psychiatry. Comfortable working with psychiatric patients. Willing to learn and receive clinical guidance. Receptive to feedback and consultation. Reliable and organized. Comfortable conducting both new evaluations and follow-up appointments. Able to complete thorough clinical documentation. Interested in evidence-based and measurement-informed psychiatric care. Comfortable learning technology-based clinical assessment tools. Committed to patient safety and high-quality psychiatric care.
Qualifications Preferred:
PMHNP certification. Previous psychiatric or behavioral health experience. FNP certification with a strong interest in psychiatry. Experience with psychiatric medication management. Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations. Experience with ADHD assessment and treatment. Experience with cognitive or neuropsychological screening. New graduates and candidates transitioning into psychiatry are encouraged to apply. Compensation:
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, credentials, clinical training, and scope of practice . Compensation structure will be discussed and mutually agreed upon during the interview and hiring process. For candidates receiving psychiatric training, compensation will be discussed based on qualifications, experience, training requirements, and clinical responsibilities.
