Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nurse Practitioner to join our team in conducting Veteran Exams. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive health assessments, perform specialized examinations, and deliver high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of our veteran population. Your expertise will help ensure veterans receive accurate evaluations, timely diagnoses, and appropriate treatment plans. Responsibilities Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for veterans, including vital signs, medical history review, and targeted clinical evaluations. Perform specialized procedures such as dermal fillers, Botox (Botulinum toxin treatment), spinal taps, and IV infusions with precision and adherence to safety protocols. Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently. Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual veteran needs. Manage acute and chronic conditions including pain management, infectious diseases, geriatrics, behavioral health issues, and post-acute care scenarios. Provide patient education on health maintenance, medication administration, and preventive care strategies. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical records in accordance with legal standards such as ICD coding and CPT procedures. Requirements Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current certification to practice independently in the designated state. Proven experience working with veterans or in a military healthcare setting is highly preferred. Strong clinical skills including physical examinations, suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and sterile processing techniques. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus. Knowledge of complex medical conditions including critical care, ICU experience, trauma center procedures (Level I/II trauma), dialysis management, and acute pain management. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing (including
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding), sonography, medical imaging, and specimen processing. Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to veteran care across diverse age groups including pediatrics and geriatrics. Familiarity with Workers' Compensation law, hospice & palliative medicine practices, occupational health protocols, and mental health assessment tools is advantageous.
