Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Pay Scale:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Position Summary Under general supervision, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides basic patient care and supportive services to ensure a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for individuals receiving mental health services. This position assists clinical and administrative staff with non-invasive care and activities of daily living while promoting patient dignity, safety, and well-being. Duties performed do not include diagnosis, treatment planning, or medical evaluations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Certified Nursing Assistant may perform the following duties, including but not limited to: Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or physical status to appropriate clinical staff. Take and record basic vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure, as directed. Support a safe and clean environment by maintaining patient areas and assisting with infection control practices. Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care at all times. Assist with patient intake processes, including gathering basic information and ensuring comfort upon arrival. Support clinical staff during patient interactions and routine procedures within scope of practice. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in accordance with agency standards. Provide general support to front office and clinical operations as needed. Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and HIPAA confidentiality standards. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. Current and valid CNA certification in the State of California. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / CPR and First Aid certification. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred Basic knowledge of patient care techniques and safety practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing mental health conditions. Ability to observe, document, and report patient information accurately. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Professional demeanor with a compassionate and patient-centered approach. Working Relationships The Certified Nursing Assistant receives direction from the MHS Program Manager and works collaboratively with clinical practitioners, contracted providers, and other agency staff to support coordinated care and efficient clinic operations. Performance Expectations / Accountability The Certified Nursing Assistant is accountable for the following outcomes: Patient care is delivered safely, respectfully, and in accordance with established standards. Patient observations and documentation are accurate, timely, and complete. Assigned duties are performed efficiently and within scope of practice. Consistent demonstration of professionalism, compassion, and respect in all interactions with patients, families, staff, and partners.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 25.0 per week
