Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients across various care settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and outpatient clinics. This role involves direct patient care, medical documentation, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient service. Candidates with experience in geriatrics, or specialized areas such as dementia and Alzheimer's care are encouraged to apply. A strong understanding of medical terminology, EMR/EHR systems, and infection control protocols is essential for success in this position. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation in medical records. Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Assist with specialized care procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, and post-acute or sub-acute care tasks. Document patient information thoroughly using EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to develop individualized patient care plans. Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients with diverse needs including behavioral health, memory care, or developmental disabilities. Follow HIPAA guidelines strictly to protect patient confidentiality at all times. Skills Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is preferred however not required. Experience with various patient populations including geriatrics, behavioral health, or those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques. Ability to perform tasks involving aseptic technique and infection control protocols effectively. Skilled in patient service activities such as vital signs measurement and medication administration under supervision. Experience working in diverse settings including hospitals (ICU, Level I & II trauma centers), outpatient clinics, home & community care environments, nursing homes or hospice is advantageous. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
