Overview We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dedicated caregiving team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with diverse populations, including geriatric and developmentally disabled individuals. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents by providing high-quality, attentive care in a supportive setting. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately while maintaining detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and ensuring their safety and comfort. Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver comprehensive patient service in various settings such as long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals, or home care environments. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or wound management to prevent infection. Assist with patient transfers using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids. Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and physiology knowledge relevant to acute care, geriatrics, behavioral health, and pediatric populations when applicable. Skills Proven experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems) such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks. Strong background in medical-surgical nursing, ICU, emergency medicine, or post-acute care environments. Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient handling. Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) including CPR confidently and effectively. Familiarity with specialized care needs such as hospice, Level I/II trauma center experience, or Level I trauma center experience preferred. Excellent caregiver communication skills with the ability to connect compassionately with residents of all ages and backgrounds. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required for patient transfer methods and safe lifting practices. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges is advantageous.
