Job Description

Nursing Assistant Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for individuals under care. The Nursing Assistant will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. Provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. Assist in the administration of medications as directed by nursing staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and common areas. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Support patients with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Engage with patients to provide emotional support and companionship. Assist in the implementation of care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Experience Candidates should possess experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Critical care experience or ICU experience. Long-term care experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Hospital experience, including emergency medicine or acute care settings. Working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care expertise. Phlebotomy skills or familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices. Experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, hospice care, or home care settings is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks is advantageous. Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques and aseptic procedures is beneficial.
