JOB SUMMARY
This full-time role supports our Dermatology team, assisting physicians with dermatologic patient care — from biopsies and excisions to suture removal and dressing changes — while keeping patients informed and comfortable every step of the way.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Required:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse in a Dermatology setting LPN candidates must hold a current, active LPN license in the State of Ohio MA candidates: Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred Comfortable assisting with dermatologic procedures, including biopsies and excisions Passionate about skin health, preventative care, and patient education Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable interacting with diverse patient populations
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Open and close exam and treatment rooms daily, preparing rooms per physician preferences Assist with insurance preauthorization's and communicate updates to patients Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vitals and brief histories, and update medication lists Set up exam rooms for scheduled dermatologic procedures or anticipate physician needs for unscheduled ones Assist physicians with biopsies, excisions, and other dermatologic surgical procedures Schedule procedures and prepare any required insurance authorizations Maintain daily logs and track expiration dates of supplies and medications Order supplies and medications; verify deliveries against packing labels and stock appropriately Prepare specimens for laboratory pick-up and complete all related documentation Educate patients on treatment plans, medication use, and compliance expectations Perform nursing procedures, including suture removal and dressing changes Accurately complete all pathology and lab requisition documents Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms after patient visits Other duties as assigned $20 - $26 per hour, based on experience relevant to the role
