Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support patient transfer methods utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safety for both patients and staff. Document patient observations and care activities thoroughly in medical documentation systems while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with nursing staff to deliver specialized care such as Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, or hospice support tailored to individual needs. Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, medication administration under supervision, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques when necessary. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safe lifting practices, and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure comprehensive patient service and support continuity of care across various healthcare settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics. Qualifications Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) recognized by state licensing boards. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities, pediatrics, or those requiring specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation. Demonstrated ability to perform basic life support (BLS), CPR, and safe lifting practices in accordance with healthcare standards. Prior experience in settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), assisted living communities, or home & community care environments is highly desirable. Strong caregiver communication skills coupled with compassion and patience when supporting patients through their recovery or daily routines.
