SHIFTS NEEDED

3pm-11pm, M-F Responsibilities and duties include: Assists residents with bathing. Assists as needed in cleaning teeth, shampooing hair, combing hair, cleaning, and butting resident's nails, and applying make up. Assists resident in dressing appropriately and encouraging appropriate clothing for the season. Makes resident beds and change linens as needed, clean resident rooms and closets, picking up unnecessary articles, and arranging room neatly. Assist ill and/or dependent residents with meal service. Answers call light promptly and are courteous to residents. Assists resident with bedpan, urinal, bedside commode, of to the bathroom as needed and/or directed. Measures vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure) as requested and reporting any abnormal or unusual vital signs to the charge nurse. Measures intake and output on all residents for whom it has been ordered Empties and measures urine from indwelling catheter or other urine collection device near the end of their shift and relays information to charge nurse to record on I & O sheets Reports unusual color or odor of excreta (urine, drainage, stool, or sputum) before discarding it. Record amount of voiding, bowel movements, and emesis on daily assignment sheets, and report abnormal findings to charge nurse immediately. Assist in collection of specimens performing diabetic urine testing as directed. Utilize precautionary measures to ensure resident and own safety when transferring resident to wheelchair, lifting, turning, and /or moving resident with the use of a gait belt as needed and following our not lift policy. Help maintain personal dignity of each resident by ensuring privacy and treating each resident with respect. Use direct observation as needed to focus on resident safety. Ensure that the call light, water, etc. are within a residents reach at all times. Shows empathy and understanding to residents, families, and visitors. Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge of residents. Helps with any other tasks that may be requested by the resident or supervisor.
