The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients and nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and home health environments. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care practices and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Provide basic patient care in critical situations, including emergency medicine scenarios. Support patients with catheter care and maintain hygiene standards. Assist with mobility needs, including transferring patients safely from beds to wheelchairs. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with nursing staff to implement patient care plans effectively. Exhibit knowledge of anatomy to assist in providing appropriate care for various conditions. Offer emotional support to patients and their families during hospice care or geriatric services. Requirements Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or equivalent experience. Certification as a Nursing Assistant is required. Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus. Knowledge of critical care practices and emergency medicine procedures is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others in need. Ability to handle sensitive information while adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Experience in geriatrics or hospice care is beneficial but not required.
