Position Title:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Location:
Upland Hills Health - Primarily in our Barneveld Clinic and other UHH clinics as needed
Role & Department:
Clinic LPN, CMA or PCT working in the
UHH Clinics Hours & Shift:
Part-time 34 hours per week (0.85 FTE) day shift position. 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. hours may vary some. No weekends and limited holidays.

Through our PCT program, you'll receive structured support and development opportunities while delivering outstanding patient care.
Two Options for candidates:
1)
Direct Hire:
for experienced CMA's or LPN's Already a Certified Medical Assistant or a Licensed Practical Nurse in Wisconsin? Apply directly to practice in a full scope position in our Clinics, no Pathway training required.
Role Responsibilities:
Will prepare patients for the health care visit and perform nursing procedures under supervision of the health care provider Assist with exams and reviews and/or records medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment Preparing laboratory specimens; perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory tests if required Sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications, authorizing drug refills as directed E-prescribing prescriptions to pharmacies as directed Assisting patients with getting imaging tests & lab work scheduled and completed to maintain patient flow in the clinic Taking electrocardiograms; removing sutures; changing dressings Keep clinic and exam rooms stocked with adequate supplies Manage and process messages from patients and front office staff to health care providers May participate in organizational and departmental CQI activities Will communicate professionally and friendly with customers at all times Assist with scheduling specialty appointments in a timely manner Assist with billing and coding of care provided and insurance processing on a daily basis May be required to assist in other clinics as needed Minimum Qualifications for
Direct Hire:
CMA:
Completion of an MA training program- Certified in the
State of Wisconsin LPN:
Active Wisconsin LPN license BLS required EPIC experience preferred; Microsoft Office skills beneficial Prior clinic experience is beneficial 2) PCT Pathway Program (CNA/EMT-B progress through three PCT Levels to earn your CMA degree and certification) Start as a Patient Care Technician (PCT-1) and develop through clearly defined levels with on-the-job training, competency checklists, dedicated support and a remote based, self-directed CMA training program.
PCT Level Overview:
PCT-1 (Entry Point): Rooming patients and supporting smooth clinic flow PCT-2: In-basket workflows (managing/routing messages to care teams), phone/portal support, documentation support per policy PCT-3: Vaccinations/immunizations (after training and competency validation, under provider order) Level 4: After successful completion of approved medical assistant independent study program and success completion of the certification examination, move directly into a CMA role
Pathway Program Expectations:
Advance to PCT-3 within 12 months of hire (advancement from
PCT-1 PCT-2 PCT-3
may vary by individual). Advancement is based on complete competencies, satisfactory performance, and manager recommendation. Structured training includes e-learning, skills labs, competency checklists, and regular assessments.
Optional CCMA Track:
An employer-supported self-study path aligned with the National Healthcare Association (NHA) CCMA curriculum may be available. Details provided upon hire; typical completion target is within 12 months of enrollment.
Pathway Minimum Qualifications:
Current CNA or EMT credential (Wisconsin) BLS required (or obtained prior to start) Strong customer service, professionalism, and reliability Comfortable using computers; EPIC experience preferred; Microsoft Office skills beneficial
