Chelsea Senior Living is committed to maximizing each resident's quality of life through individualized support and appropriate health services. Role Description The Executive Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in West Orange, NJ, responsible for the overall operation and performance of the community. This role oversees day-to-day management, including resident experience, staffing, budget oversight, compliance with regulatory standards, and coordination of healthcare and support services. The Executive Director leads and develops department managers, promotes a culture of respect and dignity for residents, and ensures that services align with Chelsea Senior Living's mission and quality standards. Daily activities include monitoring occupancy and revenue, engaging with residents and families, addressing concerns, supporting marketing and outreach efforts, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. The Executive Director also partners with clinical and support teams to ensure appropriate care plans, effective communication, and continuous improvement in service delivery. Qualifications Leadership and management skills, including team supervision, staff development, and performance management. Operational and financial oversight skills, such as budgeting, resource allocation, and process optimization. Knowledge of senior living, assisted living, or healthcare operations, including regulatory and compliance standards. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with residents, families, staff, and external partners. Ability to build a resident-centered culture focused on dignity, independence, and individualized support. Experience in marketing, community outreach, or relationship-building within the senior care or healthcare sector. Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, social services, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant licensure is a plus. Previous leadership experience in senior living, long-term care, or a comparable residential care setting strongly preferred. Ability to work on-site in West Orange, NJ, with flexibility to respond to urgent operational and resident needs.
