Elkins Park, PA Green Medical Consulting is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Home Health Aide (HHA) Instructor/Trainer to support our Registered Home Health Aide Apprenticeship Program . We are looking for a healthcare professional who has previous experience teaching nursing, healthcare, or clinical skills and is comfortable providing both classroom instruction and hands-on skills training.
Responsibilities The HHA Instructor/Trainer will:
Provide classroom and hands-on instruction to Home Health Aide apprentices. Teach nursing-related and home health care skills using demonstrations, return demonstrations, and competency assessments. Provide instruction on personal care, infection prevention, vital signs, safety, mobility, transfers, activities of daily living, documentation, communication, and other HHA competencies. Demonstrate proper techniques before allowing apprentices to perform skills. Work side-by-side with apprentices during supervised practical training. Evaluate apprentices' understanding and ability to safely perform required skills. Complete competency checklists, evaluations, attendance records, and other training documentation. Identify apprentices who need additional instruction or remediation. Maintain a professional, supportive, and structured learning environment. Follow Green Medical Consulting's approved apprenticeship curriculum, policies, and training schedule. Coordinate with the Apprenticeship Coordinator and management regarding apprentice progress. Reinforce professionalism, confidentiality, participant rights, infection control, safety, and quality care.
Required Qualifications Applicants MUST have:
Professional nursing or healthcare experience. Previous experience teaching nursing, nursing skills, CNA/HHA skills, clinical skills, or other healthcare-related courses. Strong knowledge of basic nursing and home health care skills. Experience performing and teaching hands-on clinical skills. Ability to demonstrate skills and evaluate return demonstrations. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with adult learners. Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills. Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain/maintain certification. Required clearances and health screenings applicable to the position. Preferred Qualifications Current RN or LPN license in Pennsylvania. Previous experience as a nursing instructor, clinical instructor, staff development educator, CNA instructor, HHA instructor, or nurse trainer. Experience in home health, long-term care, skilled nursing, IDD/ODP services, or community-based care. Experience developing or following healthcare lesson plans and competency-based training. Experience supervising students or employees during clinical or hands-on training. Familiarity with apprenticeship or workforce-development programs is a plus. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced nurse or healthcare educator who enjoys teaching and developing new healthcare professionals . This individual should be patient, dependable, organized, and confident demonstrating nursing and personal-care skills in both classroom and hands-on environments.
