Leads the development and implementation of unit goals, aligning with organizational objectives and fostering a collaborative environment. Maintains accountability for unit operations, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation to optimize patient outcomes. Collaborates with medical staff and support services to provide a safe and efficient care environment for patients and staff. Promotes continuous improvement by evaluating patient care delivery and implementing evidence-based practices. Serves as a clinical resource, supporting nursing personnel in planning and delivering patient care. Empowers staff through effective leadership, fostering professional growth and retention within the surgical services team. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies to maintain accreditation and quality standards. Nurse Manager Surgical Services Key Responsibilities & Duties Plan, organize, and evaluate work duties of unit staff to promote quality nursing and patient care activities. Develop annual unit goals in collaboration with staff and medical directors, supporting organizational objectives. Maintain staffing patterns within budget parameters, ensuring continuity of care and staff competency. Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication across departments. Evaluate patient care delivery through documentation, observation, and comparison to established standards. Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to build a high-performing surgical services team. Monitor employee performance, providing feedback and initiating corrective actions as needed. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and foster a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Nurse Manager Surgical Services Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Minimum of five years of acute care experience with progressive leadership roles. Current California Registered Nursing license and Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required. Proven ability to manage budgets, staffing, and operational activities effectively. Strong knowledge of nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and patient care guidelines. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment.
