Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to serve as a Charge Nurse, leading nursing teams in providing exceptional patient care across various healthcare settings. In this vital role, you will oversee daily clinical operations, coordinate patient assessments, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Lead and supervise nursing staff to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and personalized patient care Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and catheter care, following established protocols Coordinate care plans with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and case managers Maintain detailed medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and long-term care regulations Monitor patients for acute pain management needs, airway management issues, or signs of infectious disease complications Provide education to patients and their families about health conditions such as dementia care, Alzheimer's disease, or chronic illnesses while fostering caregiver communication Ensure infection control practices are rigorously followed and maintain sterile processing standards for all clinical procedures Requirements Valid state licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification to practice Proven experience working with geriatric patients in settings such as skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, or long-term care environments Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with ICU or Level I Trauma Center environments is advantageous Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and medical documentation standards Experience administering IV infusions, tube feeding, catheterization, and performing venipuncture or phlebotomy procedures Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner; EMR/EHR management skills required Ability to handle emergency situations effectively through first aid skills and basic life support (BLS) certification Excellent communication skills for working with patients with developmental disabilities or dementia; compassionate caregiver communication is essential Knowledge of infection control protocols and long-term care regulations; experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments like hospitals or urgent care centers Join us in delivering compassionate nursing leadership that transforms patient experiences!
