Job Description

at State of Delaware in Smyrna, Delaware, United States Job Description This request is for a Full Time Assistant Director of Nursing. This position will assist the Director of Nursing in providing support for nursing that meets requirements of Licensing Board of Nursing. Act as the agent for the Director of Nursing in their absence. Will also work closely with Human Resources and Labor relations in addressing employee matters. Reviews incident reports in a timely manner and alerts the Director of Nursing if an issue arises. Works closely with union representatives and participates in negotiations as needed. JOB REQUIREMENTS
for
Assistant Nursing Director:
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Long Term Care:
Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license. At least three years experience as a Registered Nurse in Long Term Care Nursing OR a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing and at least two years experience as a Registered Nurse in Long Term Care Nursing OR a Masters degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse in Long Term Care Nursing. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees. Knowledge of developing policies and procedures. Knowledge of budget development which includes analyzing financial data and making long and short range plans and projections.
