Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Manager (LPN/RN) to lead and oversee nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This role is vital in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a collaborative team environment. As a Nurse Unit Manager, you will coordinate clinical activities, supervise nursing staff, and implement best practices to promote optimal health outcomes across diverse patient populations. Your leadership will inspire excellence in patient care while managing daily operations efficiently and effectively. Duties Provide direct supervision and management of nursing staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development. Oversee patient assessments, ensuring thorough physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and accurate medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems PCC. Must be IV certified Coordinate interdisciplinary care plans for patients with complex needs such as dementia, behavioral health issues, or acute conditions requiring ICU or Level I Trauma Center experience. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all medical records and sensitive information. Supervise medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheterization, tube feeding, and sterile processing to uphold safety standards. Conduct regular audits of medical documentation, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding accuracy, and utilization review to optimize patient care pathways and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) management. Lead quality improvement initiatives related to infection control, pain management, and discharge planning to enhance patient outcomes. Facilitate training on advanced clinical procedures such as cardiac catheterization, spinal tap, sonography, or neonatal ventilator management when applicable. Promote a positive team environment by supervising staff working in various specialties including medical-surgical units, pediatrics, geriatrics, or assisted living settings. Experience Proven leadership experience in a nursing management role within acute care settings such as hospitals with Level I Trauma Center or ICU experience preferred. Extensive background in critical care environments including emergency medicine or trauma units is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; proficiency in
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding and utilization management practices required. Demonstrated expertise in patient assessment techniques across diverse populations including pediatrics (PICU), neonatal care (neonatal ventilator), long-term care residents with dementia or memory care needs. Experience supervising nursing teams in medical-surgical units or home care services; familiarity with managed care programs such as NCQA standards is advantageous. Ability to perform complex clinical procedures including phlebotomy, injection administration, venipuncture, suturing, and airway management confidently. Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations including HIPAA compliance and workers' compensation law is essential for maintaining legal standards.
