Job Description
OhioHealth is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will oversee daily nursing operations, ensure high-quality, patient-centered care, and support clinical staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance management. You will coordinate staffing, collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and promote evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Lead and supervise nursing staff on assigned unit to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care aligned with Ohio Health standards and evidence-based practice. Coordinate daily staffing, patient assignments, and workflow to optimize patient throughput, acuity coverage, and team effectiveness. Provide clinical leadership at the bedside, serving as a resource and escalation point for complex patient care situations, clinical decision-making, and problem resolution. Oversee adherence to nursing policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Support onboarding, training, coaching, and performance feedback for nurses and support staff, fostering professional growth and a culture of continuous learning. Promote an inclusive, compassionate environment that supports diversity, equity, and respect for patients, families, and team members. Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and transitions of care. Monitor quality, safety, and patient experience metrics, participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives, and implement action plans to improve outcomes. Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and resource allocation to meet budgetary and operational goals. Communicate effectively with patients and families, addressing concerns, supporting education, and advocating for patient needs. Participate in unit-based councils, committees, and organizational initiatives focused on innovation, evidence-based practice, and community health. Maintain clinical competencies, stay current on best practices, and model professional behavior, ethical practice, and adherence to Ohio Health's mission and values. Required Skills RN licensure in Ohio Clinical nursing care in acute or ambulatory settings Nursing team supervision and leadership Patient flow and staffing coordination Electronic Health Record (EHR) proficiency Care planning and care coordination Quality and patient safety practices Performance management and coaching Conflict resolution and de-escalation Interdisciplinary collaboration Infection prevention and control Regulatory and accreditation compliance Patient and family education Time management and prioritization Data interpretation for quality metrics Change management and process improvement
