Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Wellness Nurse Director to lead and oversee the wellness programs within our long-term care communities. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with leadership acumen to ensure the delivery of exceptional resident care, compliance with regulatory standards, and the development of innovative wellness initiatives. The Wellness Nurse Director will serve as a key advocate for residents' health and rights, fostering a positive environment that promotes well-being, safety, and quality of life for all residents. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence care strategies, mentor nursing teams, and uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence. Duties Lead and coordinate comprehensive wellness programs tailored to residents' individual needs, including memory care, hospice, and home health services. Supervise nursing staff across shifts, providing mentorship, clinical supervision, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality patient care. Oversee regulatory compliance by maintaining adherence to long-term care regulations, Medicare requirements, HIPAA privacy standards, and documentation review protocols. Develop and manage personalized care plans based on thorough assessments of residents' physiology, anatomy, medical history, and current health status. Monitor medical records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to ensure accurate documentation and efficient care delivery. Conduct staff training on medical terminology, regulatory updates, documentation procedures, and resident rights to foster a knowledgeable team environment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care strategies in assisted living, home health agencies, hospice care settings, and acute care environments. Manage shift operations effectively by coordinating staffing schedules, overseeing patient care activities, and ensuring smooth workflow continuity. Review clinical documentation regularly to ensure compliance with long-term care facility standards and Medicare regulations. Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections or audits while advocating for resident safety and quality improvement initiatives. Skills Extensive assisted living experience combined with nursing home expertise in long-term care settings. Proven management skills with supervising experience in nursing administration or nurse management roles. Strong knowledge of resident's rights legislation along with familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments essential for Medicaid/Medicare billing processes. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical records management and documentation review. In-depth understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and long-term care regulations to guide clinical decision-making. Experience in managing care facility teams within regulated environments such as home health agencies or hospice organizations. Excellent leadership abilities paired with effective communication skills to motivate staff and foster a collaborative team culture. Ability to oversee shift management efficiently while ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy standards. Knowledge of Medicare policies related to skilled nursing services and reimbursement processes.
