Fairview is looking for a Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department at our St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN.
Schedule:
The is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position, working 80 hours per 2-week pay period. Primarily day time 8-hour shifts, but flexibilty required to meet the needs of the department. About this

Unit:
This unit has a total of 29 beds that see a variety of patients, pediatric through geriatric, abdominal pains, falls, strokes, chest pain, headaches. We are a dynamic team that focuses on promoting a welcoming atmosphere filled with strong teamwork, collaboration, empathy, and compassion. We are looking for an employee who has strong social skills and knows how to communicate with both our patients and their fellow staff, who is compassionate, and who is a positive teammate.
Responsibilities:
The Nursing Manager manages nursing practice and patient care operations in collaboration with and accountable to the Nursing Director, This includes: nursing practice, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, finance and other operational accountabilities. Manages day-to-day operations of assigned area(s) to ensure support of the mission, vision, values and goals of the organization. Plans, manages, coordinates and evaluates patient care activities including staffing, resource management, quality and safety, regulatory compliance, and financial management. Manages equipment inventory and supply management within operational budget. Accountable for capacity management to promote patient flow. Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates the quality improvement initiatives. Responsible for human resources management to achieve quality service and positive employee relations. Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Advocates for patient, family and staff needs. Drive improvement activities that promote patient centered care and positive customer experience. In partnership the Nursing Practice and Education team assure that evidence based/best practice clinical care is being delivered. Ensures staff compliance in areas of job requirements, education and clinical competency. Works with Nurse Director to establish goals and objectives. Promotes a culture of high employee engagement, professional development, nursing education and research. Partners with interprofessional team members across the continuum of care to achieve organizational outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing If Bachelor's degree is not in nursing must have a Master's degree is nursing 3 years nursing experience, at least two of which is in a formal or informal (charge, lead, preceptor) leadership role MN Registered Nurse (RN) License or ability to obtain Minnesota nursing license Upon Hire Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
