The Position :
We're looking for a full time Director of Resident Services .
The Organization:
Camphill Ghent, Inc. located in Chatham, NY opened in 2012 and provides independent and assistant living residence to 70 residents in an elder community setting. Why Should You Apply?

Requirements:
- Must be currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the State of New York.
- Must have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must work well with others, have effective training, supervisory and management skills, and be able to identify and address problems effectively.
- Advanced degree in nursing or health-related field preferred.
- At least two years prior nursing experience working with the elderly either in a residential/facility setting or in home based care.
Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates the activities of personnel to meet the assessment, teaching and care needs of the residents.
- Adheres to and conveys the philosophy of supporting the dignity, privacy, independence, choice and individuality of residents.
- Recruits and hires home health aides and licensed nursing staff.
- Ensures appropriate consultation with and reports to prescribing practitioners regarding the status and progress of residents.
- Oversees the development of staffing schedules for home health aides and licensed nursing staff.
- Provides orientation and inservices/education to the home health aides.
- Participates in the quality assurance committee and encourages residents to present grievances or make recommendations regarding ongoing operations and programs.
- Responds to resident or staff concerns and reports them to the Administrator and/or others as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
