Union Hospital's 6100 Medical/Surgical Unit sees populations with a wide range of chronic illnesses, such as COPD,CHFand diabetes. Our specialists also provide post-op medical services for knee replacements, shoulder surgeries,colostomiesand exploratory laps. This unit has caregivers ranging from new graduates to 30+ years of experience, and they all work collaboratively to provide the best possible care to their patients. As Assistant Nurse Manager, you will support the nurse manager by providing clinical supervision and unit coordination. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible. A caregiver in this position works four 10-hour variable shifts with occasional weekend requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direction and support to the unit staff and supervises admissions, conducts assessment of patient's needs, and initiates nursing care plans. Evaluate anddocumentpatient progress. Facilitate the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs,initiatives,andobjectivesfor the unit. Assistwith the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit. Serves as a liaison between the manager,staff,and other areas within the organization. Identifyandresolveissues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. Preparescheduleof workassignments assuringadequate coverage. Participate in andsupportsquality improvement projects,outcomesstudies and research initiatives. Participate indepartmentsand committees as assigned. Assistin orienting new personnel, continuingeducation,and in-service educational programs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduatedfrom an accredited school of professional nursing.

Bachelor's degree in nursing Strongdemonstratedclinical knowledge and skills; good oral,writtenand interpersonal skills, strong analytical and organization skills Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Two years of recent clinical nurse experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: EPIC experience Three years of med/surg experience UKG/timekeeping experience NIH stroke certified
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range Minimum Annual Salary:
$76,540.00
Maximum Annual Salary:
$116,747.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
