Description Position Summary Coordinate and assist Clinical Directors with the daily functions of operations, as well as coordinating incoming and outgoing patients. Directs and supervises clinical service functions and activities in the absence of clinical directors. Facilitates patient transfers between facilities. Position Accountabilities Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Administers the nursing program in the absence of nursing directors and coordinates its activities. Promotes cooperation of the staff to achieve department organizational objectives and maintain good department relations. Assists with preparing schedules, assigning personnel, evaluating work performance and making recommendations for personnel actions. Receives and reviews preceding shift reports and floor nurse reports; makes complete rounds of all units and notes changes in department needs. Consults with charge nurse or unit supervisor when determining unit staffing needs. Assigns personnel to duty in their assigned unit and makes adjustments for special requests and/or unusual circumstances. Admits patients and arranges emergency operations and other services. Investigates complaints of patients, clinical staff, and medical staff and takes appropriate action; follows up to ensure that complaints have been satisfactorily handled. Responds to code calls and directs codes when no physician is available. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care activities utilizing principles of growth and development, and adjusts these processes as indicated to ensure optimal care of the infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department. Administers and controls narcotics and medications. Assists attending physicians and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis. Facilitates patient transfers into the facility in a professional and timely manner. Serves as a hospital liaison to physicians and administration. Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Attends meetings as required, and participates on committees as directed. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Requirements Minimum Education

  • Associate Degree/Diploma Minimum Experience
  • One year medical/surgical nursing Required Certification/Registration
  • Current Oklahoma RN license, BCLS certification ACLS, PALS, and Neonatal ACLS or NRP certification,

100, 200, 700 Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience
