We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse - Unit Manager to lead and coordinate nursing care within a busy healthcare facility. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily operations of the nursing unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, compliance with healthcare regulations and fostering a collaborative team environment. As a Unit Manager, you will serve as a clinical leader, mentor staff, and ensure that all nursing activities meet organizational standards and patient safety protocols. Your expertise will drive excellence in patient outcomes while maintaining efficient workflow and staff satisfaction. Duties Manage nursing staff and promote a motivated and skilled team. Oversee patient assessments, ensuring accurate documentation of vital signs, medical history and physiological data using PCC. Coordinate care plans tailored to individual needs, including managing complex cases such as critical & intensive care, geriatrics, behavioral health, dementia care and assisted living populations. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA, long-term care regulations and state healthcare laws. Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, catheterizations and manage ventilator support following sterile techniques and aseptic procedures. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as physical examinations and specimen collection. Lead incident investigations, discharge planning, utilization review, case management activities and ensure proper documentation of medical records for legal and billing purposes. Experience Proven management experience in a healthcare setting with demonstrated leadership in nursing management or nurse supervision roles. Extensive clinical background with critical care experience. Strong familiarity with PCC for documentation and patient record management. Experience working across diverse settings such as hospital medicine, long-term care facilities, skilled nursing homes or home care environments. Knowledge of medical terminology related to cardiology (cardiac catheterization), neonatal ventilator management (PICU), spinal taps, gastrostomy feeding (tube feeding) and infection control protocols. Skilled in managing complex cases involving behavioral health issues or individuals with developmental disabilities. Competence in managing regulatory compliance including HIPAA privacy standards, Medicare/Medicaid requirements (DRG) and state healthcare laws related to long-term care or acute care environments.
