Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. Ability to fulfill all physical aspects of position including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.

3. Two years experience as a School Nutrition Assistant/Cook.

4. Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the School Board.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prompt and regular attendance
  • Completes the state required 150-hour manager core Manager-In-Training courses (if have not already completed).
  • Participates in 30 additional hours every 3 years as a manager.
  • Participates in all local In-Service training.
  • Operates the School Nutrition Program consistent with all requirements.
  • Provides on-the-job training and supervision for all School Nutrition assistants.
  • Establishes work schedules/production schedule for all School Nutrition assistants.
  • Instructs and evaluates all School Nutrition assistants and clerks on School Nutrition policies.
  • Consults with Principal and School Nutrition Director on matters related to the School Nutrition Program operation.
  • Carry out all recommendations of director, principal, and state consultants.
  • Order food and supplies for operation in accordance with local policy.
  • Maintains all records and financial accounts accurate and up-to-date and turned in on a timely basis.
  • Maintains desirable standards of personal hygiene, conduct, sanitation and operation among all employees and facilities.
  • Maintains high food standards through the supervision of employees in the use of standardized recipes, procedures, and techniques.
  • Develops plans and utilize the School Nutrition Program as a learning laboratory to support classroom activities in nutrition education.
  • Assists in food preparation, service, and clean-up when necessary.
  • Establishes and maintain an efficient filing and retrieval system.
  • Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Principal or School Nutrition Director.
