Job Description

This work is a calling for us, and we're looking for someone who feels the same. If you went into OT because you wanted to understand kids rather than manage them, keep reading. NDPSS is a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed pediatric OT practice in Aliso Viejo serving neurodivergent children, teens, and families across Orange County. We're a small clinician-led team: a lead OT, associate OTs, and Aide. Our work spans clinic-based OT, school-based OT at a nonpublic school program, independent educational evaluations, parent coaching, and IEP advocacy. We're known for assessment that actually explains the child, and intervention that follows from it. You'll carry a caseload of children and adolescents, primarily with ADHD, autism, sensory processing differences, and executive function and written expression challenges. Early on you'll work closely with the lead clinician; over the first year you'll grow into independent evaluation and report writing.
Day to day:
Deliver individual and small-group OT sessions in clinic and at a school site Administer and interpret standardized assessments (SPM-2, Sensory Profile 2, BOT-2, Beery VMI, executive function and handwriting measures) with structured mentorship Write clear, defensible evaluation reports and progress notes Design sensory and regulation supports that trace directly to assessment findings, and train parents and school staff to carry them out Participate in IEP meetings alongside the lead clinician Collaborate with families using a Collaborative Problem Solving framework Who we're looking for OTR/L licensed in California (or eligible; new grads and recent grads encouraged to apply) Neuroaffirming and trauma-informed in practice, not just on paper: you see behavior as communication and regulation as the starting point, not compliance Comfort with, or real interest in, sensory integration and regulation-based practice Ayres Sensory Integration® (ASI) certification in progress, or willingness to pursue it with our support Strong writing. You'll be trained on our reports, but you need to be able to explain clinical reasoning in plain language Curious, coachable, and able to sit with a dysregulated kid without needing to control the room Reliable transportation for school-site work What you get Structured mentorship from an experienced OTR with advanced training in ADHD, autism, SSP/ILS, and Collaborative Problem Solving (
