ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at a nationally recognized inpatient rehab program in Salinas, California. This is a permanent, full-time direct hire position. The ARU has earned 8 consecutive years in the top 10% nationally for Quality and Outcomes, a top 10 ranking among LifePoint Acute Rehab Units, Newsweek recognition as one of the top 25 Best Rehab Units in the country, and CARF accreditation for both Stroke and Medical Rehabilitation. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Evaluating and assessing patients' functional status using observation, standardized tests, and clinical assessment tools Developing individualized OT treatment plans with measurable goals in alignment with physician guidelines Implementing treatment plans using recognized therapeutic techniques across a range of diagnoses Providing therapeutic activities targeting ADLs, muscular function, mental rehabilitation, and general conditioning Designing and constructing adaptive equipment as clinically appropriate Collaborating with physicians, nursing, social workers, discharge planners, and family members Documenting patient progress accurately and maintaining billing, QA records, and correspondence Participating in departmental meetings, geriatric assessments, and discharge planning Supervising OT fieldwork interns as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

Active California OT license — or ability to obtain prior to start Minimum 2 years of experience as a registered Occupational Therapist Graduate of an AOTA-, WFOT-, or nationally accredited OT program Valid CA Driver License and original Social Security Card required before Day 1 Current or ability to obtain CPR certification

Preferred:

ARU, acute inpatient, or acute rehab setting experience Stroke, TBI, spinal cord, or neurological rehab background Experience supervising OT fieldwork students Bilingual Spanish-English
