This rewarding position involves providing specialized occupational therapy services within a school setting, collaborating closely with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to foster functional independence and enhance learning experiences. Your expertise will help create an inclusive environment that promotes growth, development, and success for all students. Duties Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs, including goals for improving participation and access in the classroom and school environment. Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, physical therapists, and other team members to coordinate care plans and ensure integrated support strategies. Support students with autism spectrum disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders by applying specialized intervention techniques and behavioral strategies. Document clinical progress accurately in electronic health records (EHR) and maintain detailed medical documentation consistent with regulatory standards. Provide training and consultation to school staff and families on occupational therapy strategies, adaptive equipment use, and discharge planning. Skills Proven experience working with students with disabilities in educational settings, including school experience with pediatric occupational therapy. Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy assessments, treatment plan development, and evidence-based practices. Familiarity with IEP process, OT scope in schools, and clinical documentation requirements. Ability to communicate effectively with clients (students), families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to promote client-centered care. Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders; supportive of autism spectrum disorders support initiatives. Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) management for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
