Responsibilities Evaluate patients' functional status, cognition, and activities of daily living (ADLs) after illness or injury Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans and goals Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, coordination, and independence Instruct patients and families in adaptive techniques, energy conservation, and use of assistive equipment Document assessments, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in the electronic medical record Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team including PT, speech, nursing, and physicians Participate in discharge planning and recommendations for home modifications or continued services Adhere to regulatory, ethical, and safety standards in a rehabilitation hospital setting Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and use outcome data to refine care plans Engage in continuing education, specialty training, and mentorship opportunities Required Skills Occupational therapy evaluation and treatment planning Inpatient rehabilitation techniques ADL and IADL retraining Therapeutic exercise and neuromuscular re-education Splinting and use of adaptive equipment Functional cognitive assessment and treatment Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Interdisciplinary team collaboration Patient and family education Discharge planning and home safety assessment
