Job Description
The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality therapy services to short-term rehab and long-term care residents. In this role, you will evaluate functional abilities, develop person-centered treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to improve independence in ADLs, mobility, and cognition. You'll collaborate closely with nursing, rehab, and medical teams, document progress, educate residents and families, and support safe discharges. Responsibilities Evaluate residents' functional status, including ADLs, mobility, strength, cognition, and safety needs. Develop individualized, resident-centered treatment plans and measurable goals. Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve function and independence. Provide ADL retraining, therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, and adaptive equipment training. Collaborate with nursing, rehab, and medical team members on care plans and discharge planning. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on home programs, safety, and adaptive strategies. Accurately document evaluations, treatments, and progress notes in the EMR in a timely manner. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations and professional practice standards. Support a compassionate, resident-centered culture that emphasizes dignity and respect.
