Inpatient Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist
Job Description
Encompass Health is seeking an Inpatient Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a collaborative hospital setting. In this role, you'll evaluate and treat adults recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, orthopedic surgery, and other complex conditions. You will design individualized treatment plans to improve functional independence in daily activities, provide family education, and actively participate on an interdisciplinary rehab team. Responsibilities Provide evidence-based occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for inpatient rehabilitation patients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function, independence, and safety in daily activities. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team, including PT, SLP, nursing, and physicians, to coordinate patient care. Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices. Document assessments, treatment sessions, and progress in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. Participate in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions and appropriate follow-up services. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold clinical excellence and patient-centered care. Provide guidance and mentorship to therapy assistants and students as appropriate.
