Job Description
OhioHealth is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients restore function, improve independence, and enhance quality of life across a variety of care settings. You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and document progress in alignment with best practices. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess functional, cognitive, and psychosocial needs Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and measurable goals Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living, functional mobility, work, and leisure skills Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive strategies, and assistive equipment Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, and other team members to coordinate patient care Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge plans accurately in the electronic medical record Participate in discharge planning, including recommendations for equipment, services, and follow-up therapy Contribute to quality-improvement initiatives, clinical education, and evidence-based practice activities within the department Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, professional practice guidelines, and Ohio Health policies Required Skills Occupational therapy evaluation and treatment planning Knowledge of evidence-based OT interventions Functional and cognitive assessment skills ADL and IADL retraining Neuromuscular re-education and therapeutic exercise Splinting and positioning (as applicable) Use and recommendation of adaptive equipment and assistive technology Patient and family education Interdisciplinary care coordination and communication Clinical documentation in an electronic medical record (EMR) Time management and caseload prioritization Understanding of rehabilitation, safety, and infection-control guidelines
