The Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing and directing occupational therapy services to patients which may include pediatric, adult and/or geriatric persons. Essential Job Duties :
Provides or makes provision for client care in compliance with the American Occupational Therapy Association, physicians' orders, and Clinical Pathways as they become available. Assesses and evaluates client's status by reviewing and implementing the plan of care, regularly re-evaluating client needs revising the plan of care as necessary. Initiates and applies appropriate preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitative procedures and techniques and maintains communication regarding client care with the physician and supervisory personnel. Assesses and provides client and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis and plan of care. Participates in coordination of occupational services; appropriately reporting the need for disciplines (PT, SN, MSW, ST, Dietitian) to the case manager. Reports change in client status and pertinent clinical findings to the physician, case manager or clinical supervisor as needed. Assists the client with the activities of daily living and facilitates the client's efforts toward self-sufficiency and independence.
Qualifications :
MS/OTD in Occupational Therapy or BS with equivalent work experience. Successful completion of State Certification Examination for Occupational Therapy. Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development. Must maintain valid state Occupational Therapy Licensure EEO Employer #Sponsor
