School Occupational Therapist - Winnetka, Illinois

Job Description

Seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support Early Childhood students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year on a part-time contract. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners in a collaborative, supportive environment located in the North Chicago area. Work as part of a specialized team to deliver high-quality occupational therapy within the preschool consortium, providing vital services to students with diverse needs.
Desired Qualifications:
Active certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Previous experience working within early childhood or special education settings is highly valued Knowledge of school-based OT best practices and a passion for working with young learners Flexibility for travel within the preschool consortium as needed Strong interpersonal and communication skills with children, families, and colleagues
Role Responsibilities:
Assess students to develop targeted, individualized occupational therapy plans Provide direct therapy services to preschool-age children in alignment with IEP goals Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families to support student progress Document progress and maintain clear records according to school and regulatory standards Consult and contribute to the development of strategies and accommodations within the classroom environment Participate in team meetings and ongoing program development Engage in ongoing professional growth and adhere to ethical and legal standards in school-based practice
