Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist, where your expertise will support students in achieving their fullest potential in an engaging school environment near Hammond, IN. In this role, you'll be instrumental in fostering growth, independence, and participation for children of varying abilities, collaborating with educational staff and families.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapy licensure in the state (or eligibility to obtain). Masters degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Prior experience or strong interest in working with pediatric or school-age clients. Understanding of IEP development and implementation within school settings. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills. Ability to adapt interventions based on student needs and learning styles.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify student needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in accordance with IEP goals. Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver both direct and consultative OT services. Maintain detailed and timely documentation on evaluations, progress, and outcomes. Collaborate actively with teachers, multidisciplinary teams, and families to ensure continuity of care and to promote student success. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insights to goal-setting discussions.
