•there is flexibility to add on the following school year to your contract! Sevn Workforce Solutions is hiring a School Occupational Therapist in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. You'd be serving students across the district and the surrounding county buildings, so expect a little windshield time and a caseload with real variety instead of the same four walls every day. If you've ever wanted to spend a school year somewhere beautiful, quiet and completely different from wherever you are now, this is that assignment. Lake Superior, the Soo Locks, Mackinac about an hour south, and some of the best fall and winter you'll ever see. What You'd Be Doing Evaluating students and writing up findings for IEP teams Delivering direct and consult OT services in line with student IEPs Writing goals, tracking progress and adjusting when something isn't landing Recommending and training staff on assistive technology, adaptive equipment and classroom strategies Traveling between assigned buildings across the district and county Showing up for IEP meetings and working alongside teachers, paras and related service staff Keeping documentation and Medicaid billing clean and on time Never Done a Travel Contract Before? Read This. You've heard of Travel Nurses and Travel PTs. School based OTs can do the exact same thing, and most therapists I talk to have no idea it's an option. A travel contract means you take your license on the road. You work a district somewhere else in your state or across the country, usually for about 9 months, and when the school year wraps you go home, rest, and pick your next spot. To qualify, you have to live 50 miles or more from the district. That distance is what makes you eligible for tax-free stipends covering housing, meals and incidentals, and that's where the money really changes. Why Therapists Take These The pay. Travel contracts run about 40-65% higher than a standard fully taxed W2 role. That's not a small bump. Tax-free stipends. Housing and meal stipends lower your taxable income and raise what actually lands in your account. You pick the map. New district, new part of the country, new experience, and you choose where and when. Your resume gets stronger. Different school systems, different populations, a bigger network. It shows. Real time off. Finish the year, take a breath, travel, do nothing. Then decide. A full school year of stability. You're not bouncing week to week. You get one district, one team, one caseload, and a start and end date you can actually plan your life around. You don't have to commit to one district for the next five years to do meaningful work with kids. That's the whole point. Why Work With Sevn 20+ years of staffing experience. Your recruiter matters. Our team makes sure you're supported, paid well, and placed somewhere you actually want to be. Top tier pay. $2,400
•2,600 per week on the travel package (estimated net equivalent to someone salaried at $81
•87/hr in Michigan). Weekly pay and full benefits. Health insurance, PTO, and tax-free stipends. Licensing help. If you're not licensed in Michigan yet, we'll walk you through it. It's not the hurdle people think it is. A team that picks up the phone. From onboarding through the last day of your assignment. What You Need Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Active Michigan OT license, or the ability to obtain one (we'll help) NBCOT certification School based experience preferred, and comfort working with pediatric and special needs populations Solid understanding of IEPs, evaluations and progress reporting Reliable transportation, since you'll be covering multiple buildings Interested? Apply today and I'll get you the full details on the caseload, the buildings, and what your actual take home would look like on the travel package. If you've got questions about how the stipends are calculated or what Michigan licensing takes, ask me. That's the part people want real numbers on, and I'm happy to walk you through it. Send your resume straight to kevin@sevnws.com. #IND1
