Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling school-based role as an Occupational Therapist, providing vital services to students in a supportive educational environment. This full-time, contract position fills a maternity leave coverage from January through the end of April, offering the unique opportunity to make a positive impact during the school year. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with educators, families, and support staff to facilitate student growth, engagement, and independence. Your specialized skills will empower students to overcome barriers, enhancing their participation in daily school routines and activities.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program Active state OT license Previous experience in a school setting preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Knowledge of IEPs, goal writing, and progress monitoring Ability to work with students of diverse ages and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' needs Develop and implement targeted intervention plans Provide direct therapeutic services in both individual and group settings Consult and coach school staff and families on strategies to support student success Document services and complete necessary paperwork in compliance with district and legal requirements Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions Monitor progress and adjust plans based on students' evolving needs
