Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a difference supporting students' growth and development as a school-based Occupational Therapist in a dynamic educational setting near San Acacia, NM. This full-time contract opportunity offers a 4-day work week (Monday through Thursday, 8AM-4PM), giving you extended weekends and a balanced schedule. Work district-wide, impacting approximately 40 students ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade, and collaborate closely with a team of professionals dedicated to student success.
What You'll Bring:
Current Occupational Therapy licensure from the State of New Mexico Experience or strong interest in working with school-aged children and youth Skills in delivering therapy through both in-person and teletherapy platforms Ability to supervise and mentor a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Strong communication and organizational skills Commitment to fostering student independence and participation in the school environment
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to a diverse caseload of students, Pre-K through 12th grade, across the district Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans Conduct assessments and document goals, progress, and outcomes for each student Supervise a COTA, ensuring high standards of therapeutic practice and compliance Employ creative interventions, both in-person and through teletherapy, to address fine motor, sensory, and adaptive needs Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to positive education outcomes This role offers a unique blend of variety, responsibility, and professional growth opportunities within a supportive school community.
