This contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a positive impact through Occupational Therapy services in a supportive school environment near Shelbyville, TN. If you have experience in school-based OT and thrive on variety, this position provides a meaningful way to use your specialized skills. This position is structured for three days per week, with each day consisting of 7 hours on-site. There is potential to increase the schedule based on referral volume, allowing for adaptability within the role. Your work will run from the first week of February through just before the end of the school year, giving you a clearly defined commitment.

Qualifications:

Valid Occupational Therapist licensure and credentials to practice in a school environment Proven experience in school settings or pediatric occupational therapy Strong skills in administering evaluations and conducting OT/sensory assessments Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and team members Familiarity with IEP planning, documentation, and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings

Responsibilities:

Test students referred for OT or sensory evaluations, as well as those needing re-evaluations Participate actively in IEP meetings and support team consultations Provide both direct OT services to 11 students across 4 school sites and consultation for 15-20 students Offer recommendations and support to teachers for classroom strategies Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation in line with school/district policies This flexible, school-year position empowers you to focus on students needs in a collaborative environment.
