Heaston Thompson Vision Clinic is seeking a motivated, patient-centered Optometric Vision Therapist to join our established vision therapy team in Richland, WA. In this role, you'll work one-on-one with children and adults to help improve visual function through individualized, doctor-prescribed therapy programs. You'll guide patients through visual, sensory, and motor-based activities while helping them build skills that can positively impact learning, movement, performance, and everyday life. Coming from a related field? You may be a great fit! We welcome candidates with backgrounds in optometry, healthcare, education, childhood development, kinesiology, occupational or physical therapy, coaching, rehabilitation, or other related fields. Direct vision therapy experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
WHAT WE OFFER
$20-$28 per hour, depending on experience and background. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide individualized 45-minute, one-on-one vision therapy sessions. Carry out treatment plans prescribed by the optometrist. Guide patients through visual, sensory, motor, and developmental activities. Build positive relationships with pediatric and adult patients. Encourage and motivate patients throughout their therapy program. Educate patients and families on home therapy activities and expectations. Track patient progress and accurately document outcomes. Communicate observations and progress with doctors and other team members. Collaborate with the clinical team to support each patient's treatment goals.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience in optometry, healthcare, education, childhood development, therapy, rehabilitation, kinesiology, coaching, or a related field is preferred. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working closely one-on-one with patients. Ability to connect with, motivate, and build rapport with children. Patient, encouraging, and positive approach. Experience teaching, coaching, guiding, or providing instruction is a plus. Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to track patient progress. Comfortable following structured treatment plans and clinical direction. Curious and interested in how vision connects to learning, movement, and performance.
