Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity to support K-12 students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a vibrant school environment. This full-time, school year contract begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of the academic year, offering the chance to make a positive and lasting impact on students' educational journeys. Ideal candidates bring experience or training working in schools as a COTA and are enthusiastic about collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet each student's unique needs.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly valued Ability to assist with implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) alongside occupational therapists Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and family/team collaboration Familiarity with K-12 developmental stages and related challenges Adaptable, reliable, and eager to foster student growth and engagement
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct treatment, guided by OT plans, to help students achieve IEP goals Support skill development in areas such as fine motor coordination, sensory processing, and self-care tasks Document progress, keeping clear and timely records per school and compliance standards Collaborate closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and other school staff Offer feedback and strategies to families and educators for generalizing skills beyond the classroom This contract position gives you the chance to make a meaningful difference every day, working in an environment that encourages growth—for both you and your students.
