Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and safety Implement treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring therapy goals are met effectively and efficiently Support pediatric clients with childhood developmental delays and occupational therapy for clients with autism or neurodevelopmental disorders Provide care documentation by accurately recording session details, progress notes, and care plans in compliance with healthcare standards Help facilitate patient transport within healthcare facilities or home health settings to ensure smooth transitions and continuous care Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and adjust care strategies tailored to each client's needs Perform manual handling and safe patient transfers using proper techniques to prevent injury and ensure comfort during therapy sessions Engage in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facility, or home health environments to deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services Requirements Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program is essential Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging relevant to occupational therapy practices Experience in acute care, inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments is advantageous Strong communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics Ability to assist with ADLs and implement treatment plans confidently while maintaining patient safety at all times Familiarity with occupational health practices and the ability to adapt interventions for clients with complex needs such as autism or mobility impairments Knowledge of care documentation standards and proficiency in using electronic health records systems Join us today to be part of a passionate team dedicated to transforming lives through expert occupational therapy services.
